Microwave Chemistry
Microwave Chemistry is one of the youngest fields of science, which were born at the end of XX century. The fast development of Microwave Chemistry is explained mostly by the fact that it allows to get results faster. If you need to heat conventionally an average reaction mixture for hours, you will need probably minutes to reach the same results applying microwave heating. Then, you are able to obtain more results in shorter time. Okay, nothing is so esay, but anyway if your reaction doesn\'t proceed at maximal temperature (200-300В°C) under microwave irradiation during an hour, you can say it does not proceed at all! And think about other possible catalyst, active reagents etc. Thus, in only an hour you will know what to do and what not to do.
On the other hand, the Microwave Chemistry is not only decreasing of the reaction time and facile tool for the optimization of reaction conditions. In some cases it allows to manage a selectivity of the chemical process and to increase yields and purity of target compounds, to select flexible solvents and catalysts and many others.
